Camp Modules
Viking Treasure Trek: The Quest Begins TM
In the Viking Treasure Trek: The Quest BeginsTM module, children are put on a treasure hunt to find the bounty of gold hidden by ancient seafarers. Armed with compasses, children work in teams to decipher clues, logic puzzles, riddles, and challenges that include building boats. Throughout the hunt, children utilise teamwork and creative problem solving to finally uncover the long lost treasure!
Comic Book Science: FlyJack and Jill TM
Children will have a fun time with this one! Here, they develop a new superhero comic book that explores scientific superhero powers (the five senses: the ability to “morph”, flight, speed, strength and reaction time etc.) to save a major comic book publisher from closing down! Children then integrate their findings into their own comic books by giving their superheroes similar scientific super powers.
Land Sled X-Treme TM
In the Land Sled X- TremeTM module, children take on engineering principles and work as a team to complete daily science challenges. They can then earn points to buy materials such as tape, boxes, and skateboards to build their very own land sled. At the end of the module, teams participate in the highlight of the module – the X-treme obstacle course, to win the title of X-treme Land Sled Racer!
I Can Invent: Fantasy Inventions & Complicated Machines II TM
Yes they can invent! This module lets children’s imaginations run wild as they take apart broken household appliances to build complicated machines. Older children use pieces and parts from their take-apart items and other supplies to set their multi-step machines in motion while younger children focus on building fantasy inventions that will help solve a problem. The process of invention is further explored as children then market their inventions and apply for (and receive) mock patents.
Recess Remix TM
Combining physical activity with creative problem solving, children take part in fun, energetic games that require teamwork, cooperation and inventive thinking. As all ‘Remixes’ go, children can modify aspects of games to come up with their own versions. The module also allows the instructor to choose the games to play depending on factors such as the players’ age, whether games are held indoors or outdoors etc. Each day, children create and play a different game to demonstrate their originality!
